KBI Forms New Sustainable Divisions

K.B. Industries, Inc (KBI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Atlantic Wind & Solar, Inc., has announced the formation of its new Sustainable Divisions to increase the beneficial use of waste and scrap materials in sustainable products and applications.

Clearwater, Florida-based KBI developed and manufactures Flexi-Pave flexible porous paving using a mix of recycled tire rubber granules, stone and KBI’s proprietary binding agent.

Tire Recycling Equipment

Launched over 19 years ago, KBI’s Flexi-Pave technology has grown into a line of products that provide proven infrastructure solutions in the construction and stormwater management industries.

KBI TruckRecently, KBI announced it has parlayed the knowledge and experience it gained in beneficially using recycled tire rubber in creating its Flexi-Pave porous paving product into four new divisions designed to show how this technology connects to and correlates with other technologies in building an environmental, sustainable, next generation infrastructure.

These new divisions provide an educational platform got understanding and expanding the use and beneficial application of waste and scrap materials in solving infrastructure problems, KBI said.

The new divisions are:

ZERO EMISSIONS WASTE 2 ENERGY Division (ZEW2E)

Will use zero emission waste to electricity (ZEW2E) technology to convert municipal solid waste (MSW) as well as biomass agricultural, yard, food, and even raw sewage waste into pellet used products that can be used for fertilizer, animal feed or fuel.

SCRAP TIRE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS Division (STCP)

Will convert high quality fiber and wire free recycled tire granule into proven sustainable infrastructure solutions for the Construction, and Storm Water Management Industries, including: KBI Flexi-Pave, KBI Flexi-Twall for erosion and control noise abatement and KBI Flexi-Drain.

NEXT GENERATION TIRE RECYCLING Division (NGTR)

Will develop KBI Tire Recycling Plants designed to convert used car, truck, and off the road (OTR) tires into high quality fiber and wire free recycled tire granule.

WATER PURIFICATION NEXT GENERATION Division (WPNG)

KBI is “partnering” with a patented technology designed specifically to help clean natural water bodies, with a zero-carbon footprint.

AIR PURIFICATION NEXT GENERATION Division (APNG)

Will identify large volumetric passive and active air purification for urbanized air contamination as well as for indoor and ambient conditions.

EARTH RECLAMATION NEXT GENERATION Division (ERNG)

Will use sustainable soil stabilization technology to resolve challenges, in non-asphalt road construction and repair, dust control and avoidance of erosion.
