Liberty Tire Recycling 2025 Sustainability Reports
More tires recycled, lower emissions, higher growth pacing future sustainability
Liberty Tire Recycling released its 2025 Sustainability Report along with its first public Climate Risk & Resilience Report aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures. Together, the reports demonstrate how Liberty’s sustainability efforts are driving circularity, measurable operational progress and supporting long-term business performance.
In 2025 Liberty collected over 219 million end‑of‑life tires, achieving an 81 percent end‑market utilization rate—indicating that the large majority of materials entered beneficial end uses rather than disposal.
“At Liberty, sustainability is core to our operations and how we show up for our partners and communities,” Thomas Womble, CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling, said. “We’re proud of the progress reflected in this report and grateful to our employees whose dedication makes it possible. We remain focused on continuing to drive progress through continued collaborative efforts with the manufacturers and retailers.”
Liberty operates 57 locations in North America, including 53 facilities and 4 offices, with operations across the United States and Canada. In 2025, Liberty’s fleet consisted of 550 vehicles.
In 2025 Liberty delivered clear, measurable results across its operations. Improved energy, fuel, and resource management drove a 6 percent reduction in location-based Scope 2 emissions, a 10 percent reduction in market-based emissions, and an 8 percent improvement in energy intensity, according to the new Climate Risk & Resilience Report. Liberty’s climate strategy focuses on expanding circular end markets while improving operational efficiency and resilience.
Three enterprise goals guide this approach: improve fleet fuel efficiency by 20 percent by 2030, reduce energy intensity by 25 percent by 2032, and achieve zero waste by 2030 (100 percent of collected tires entering an end‑use market)
The Climate Risk & Resilience Report represents a milestone for Liberty, outlining how climate-related risks and opportunities are identified, assessed, and managed, and how these considerations are integrated into operational and strategic planning. The report reinforces the connection between sustainability, efficiency, and long-term business resilience.
These results also reflect Liberty’s continued focus on its workforce and communities. In 2025, the company reported an 11 percent reduction in Lost Time Injury Rate (LTIR) and a 9 percent relative reduction in employee turnover, alongside more than $216,000 donated to charitable initiatives.
In 2025, Liberty’s sustainability performance was recognized externally, including an EcoVadis Bronze rating, placing the company in the top third of companies assessed, as well as recognition through the Recircle Award for Circular Economy Innovation.
“We have said from day one—putting sustainability at the core of our operations would produce better results for the environment and our business,” according to Amy Brackin, Senior Vice President of Sustainability. “This year’s report continues to demonstrate that Liberty is a leader in both the tire recycling industry and the sustainability sector more broadly.”
