Scrap Tire Grants Available

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has grant applications available for cleanup and reuse of scrap tires.

The Scrap Tire Cleanup Grant is available for property owners to clean up scrap tire piles. Local governments and non-profits are eligible for grants to fund cleanup days and roadside cleanups.

The Market Development Grant is available for projects that demonstrate new or increased uses of scrap tires in manufactured products.

These grants reimburse up to 50 percent of the cost of purchasing scrap tires; up to 50 percent of the cost of purchasing equipment and/or for research and development projects.
